We need more of this. The issues in our system don’t just impact through schools. Local authority funding crises often push families down child protection route instead of family support route. Parents desperately seeking support for their child get blamed not helped.

Another valuable study identifying that parents of autistic children and/or autistic parents are frequently blamed when they seek help and support for their child. In worst cases this leads to allegations of FII. #disabilityrights #parentblame #autism #socialjustice

This is a hugely important report that highlights how broken our systems are. Many of these are families of #disabled or #neurodivergent children or parents, who sought help & support & instead had their #humanrights violated. This has to stop.

This is how we make positive progress. I hope it happens, because for years parents have tried to advocate for their children only to be dismissed, ignored, or - worse - accused of FII.

Had to use our wonderful #SycamoreGap for my background pic. I was so lucky to have done a 7 mile walk along that stretch of wall just a few weeks before it was felled. Still gutted it’s gone, but the potential for new growth is there. I feel a metaphor in there somewhere!
