My friend Anthony was gracious enough to let me photograph him a few times for references. “The Choice Is Yours” from a few years ago is one of the resulting paintings. Measuring 14x22”, it is still available for purchase at the time of posting.

For anyone curious about my process, here is an example. “Boy on Flat Rock” is an 8x10” watercolor from a few years ago. It starts with a yellow and blue underpainting, leaving the brightest spots of the composition white. Then ‘local’ color is added, and finally rich color and details.

A recently finished commission with my studio assistant looking on.

Now that I’m getting settled into my new home, I wanted to share a glimpse into my studio setup - at least its current state. I rigged a utility shelf to work as a standing desk. The light in this atrium room is incredible. Oh yeah… and there’s a detail of a current work in progress.
