I’m so glad I gave myself a rest day in SF after GDC to decompress. There’s NO WAY I would’ve been ready to travel home after that week of beautiful chaos 🤠

The Oscars thing is complicated. I can see why some feel it’s in poor taste to have an award show during this catastrophe. But I also know, as a Rams fan, how meaningful it is to continue to watch sports (as it was after 9/11). And LA is an entertainment town where many need the award season work.

There is no way you should be “managing” anything if you lack awareness, emotional control and logic Unfortunately I’m seeing a lot more lack of than usual across the board

Around this time every year I get really sad because I miss having snow in the winter, but then immediately I remember shoveling exists and how miserable it was sitting in the car waiting for it to warm up so I could drive to work and realize how good I’ve got it now in LA!

One of my pieces im most proud of in 2024 was my rescore of the revelation scene from Love Death + Robot’s “Beyond the Aquila Rift”. It was the first time I dipped my toes into horror/thriller compositions and man did I learn have SO much fun doing it. Definitely glad I got out of my comfort zone.

I think one of the most disingenuous pieces of advice I’ve seen floating around our society rn is the notion of “disappear for 6 months and come back different”. It really irks me because all of my change and growth has come amongst fellowship of people who are working HARD on improving themselves.

Writing for horror/thriller takes so much pressure off writing leitmotif/melody and I just get to ~ride the vibe~ this might be my new favorite genre to work in

Why is it that the horror cues always come out better when I write them in the dead of night
