Not sure when I'll get to hear the whole show, but here's the @popshopradio.bsky.social record label for this week's show, for Peaches and Herb's Let's Fall in Love. They're a group I sadly don't know much about. Also, a QSL for his version of the Radiogram this week. It's Poppie!

It's amazing that anything decoded at all! A few images from the weak and jammed @swradiogram.bsky.social at 1430z on WRMI's 9955 frequency. There were a ton of errors in both MFSK32 and 64, but amazing 8 images in total came through.

This week's #MightyKBC birthday image by @radioactiveal.bsky.social is Chubby Checker, who once got himself all in a twist (hah) over a phone app that used a man's shoe size to check the size of his… you know… I think he wound up settling with HP for an undisclosed sum.

it's another showing of @swradiogram.bsky.social, this time from WRMI 9455 at 2300z. This has proven to be quite a good signal for me on the AL gulf coast, often as good as one of the WINB broadcasts. There are a lot of amazing carvings shown but "Bear cub in a tree stump" might be my favorite.

The 0230z @swradiogram.bsky.social proved to be a much better signal than yesterday's show, so here are four great carving images from the broadcast. From coastal Alabama.

This week's @swradiogram.bsky.social is a feature on Hope, BC, home of @popshopradio.bsky.social and the annual World Class Chainsaw Carving Event. Some of these carvings are mind bogglingly good!

I haven't had a change to listen to this week's @popshopradio.bsky.social yet, but judging by this fuzzy foto, the signal probably won't be too good for music. Hopefully it's strong during Steely Dan and weak during Barbra Streisand! 😹

Four more albums from 1975 on this @swradiogram.bsky.social that aired at 2300z via WRMI 9455. Surprisingly decent quality again this week. No trace of a signal for the 7780 broadcast, and 9955 seems too covered up in noise to trigger anything, but we'll see… that just leaves 5850, airing now!

Another edition of @swradiogram.bsky.social, this time at 0230z via WINB 9265. Countin' down the hits like Casey Kasem, only you don't have to talk about a little dog named Snuggles. Reception from the Alabama gulf coast.

An enjoyable countdown of the hits from 1975 on this week's first @swradiogram.bsky.social with guest host @radioactiveal.bsky.social. I'm very familiar with every one one of these songs except for Freddy Fender. Weird how some songs have immense staying power while others don't, despite being a #1.

Despite being well outside the target area, this special @cmobrecht.bsky.social broadcast in DRM from Ascension Island was at least briefly received here on the Alabama gulf coast. And I do mean brief! There was never a long enough span of audio to decipher the song being played. Fun to try, though!

Unlike 9955, WRMI's 5850 @swradiogram.bsky.social broadcast usually does a lot better here in Alabama. This was a good week with only minimal noise on the band at 0800z this time. Thanks for another week of shows!

The 1430z @swradiogram.bsky.social from WRMI 9955 was absolutely hammered by jamming or whatever it is that causes all the noise, so there was no decoding of the MFSK32 segment, and only three images made it through. Weirdly, I could not get the Olivia special mode at all, either. Might try again.

The 2330z @swradiogram.bsky.social on WINB proved to be a "corker" here on the Alabama gulf coast. A friend in Alaska also noted reception but didn't have an app or PC handy to try to decode anything. So that's one more far-flung place the old transmitter reaches regularly! That poor light post!

Really weird conditions for this week's @popshopradio.bsky.social — the broadcast was extraordinarily choppy and noisy while WWCR on 5935 was mostly solid. When WTWW signed on later on 5920, it too was a choppy mess. I don't think I've ever heard a WRMI broadcast sound this messed up. 5 YEARS!!!

The first @swradiogram.bsky.social of the week from WINB was kind of… sparkly. I guess my local RF noisemaker was running again. Looking forward to what @radioactiveal.bsky.social and @popshopradio.bsky.social have in store for us in the coming weeks!

No usable signal from the 7780 or 9955 @swradiogram.bsky.social broadcasts this week, and these results from 5850 were unusual for me here on the AL coast. The signal was almost unusable at the start, with MFSK32 struggling. Around the time of the skinkpic things improved a lot!

Fairly good decodes from tonight's @swradiogram.bsky.social via WINB, as received on the Alabama gulf coast. All these years of shortwave listening and it still amazes me that WINB's signal means this is decoded not just in the USA but as far away as Australia and Italy, too. Quite a footprint!

Congrats on 5 years of @popshopradio.bsky.social! Time flies when you're having fun, eh? I had to jump straight to the Woofferton show first because… The Monkees? Rupert Holmes in French?? Klaus Nomi?!? You're programming directly to my heart, doncha know.

Just about to wrap up several days' worth of recordings with my favorite broadcast slot, the 0300z "redeye" @swradiogram.bsky.social on WRMI 5850 kHz. The hummingbird is certainly clearer here than the previous 9955 broadcast!

The 1430z @swradiogram.bsky.social via WRMI 9955 was quite difficult to decode due to both the bad EQ and the jamming, which was mostly — but not entirely — on the upper sideband. An example of MFSK32 decoding through the noise, plus two MFSK64 images that somehow triggered. From Alabama.

A difficult #MightyKBC this week due to interference from an adjacent signal on the dial. The @radioactiveal.bsky.social birthday image of Roger Waters from Pink Floyd made it through but it's pretty ratty. If there was a DX segment, I didn't hear enough of it to attempt decoding.

Getting caught up with my digital decodes this morning… First up, results from the 2300z @swradiogram.bsky.social via WRMI 9455 was surprisingly solid this week here on the AL gulf coast. This might be the best transmission of the week (so far).

From coastal Alabama, where we have no building art installations, aurora or Least Flycatchers to admire locally.

This week's @popshopradio.bsky.social on WRMI 5950 started off great but around the time of Judy In Disguise, the local RF noisemaker kicked in AND WWCR signed on 5920 and obliterated the SDR's gain settings, lol. But it did recover somewhat for the data segment. Thanks for another great week!

Just one image was salvaged from the 1430z @swradiogram.bsky.social on 9955 kHz. I got most of the MFSK32 text at the start but after that the signal really sank. Plus, there was some intermittent electronic-jammy sounding noise, along with WRMI's usual EQ reducing the audio. From coastal Alabama.

Spinning up a new week of images from the 2330z @swradiogram.bsky.social, as received on the Alabama gulf coast. I admit this is the first time I've heard the term "Law of Parsimony"; it's always just been Occam's Razor to me.

Much better results from the 0800z @swradiogram.bsky.social via WRMI 5850, especially when the recording already has the NB feature applied to cut down on local RF noise. From coastal Alabama. I guess it's time to walk around the neighborhood with a radio to find the source. It's so annoying!

This week's @popshopradio.bsky.social was a bust, I'll have to look for the download later. The (new, terrible) local RF is pretty bad and even the noise blanker in HDSDR can't fix it enough to make it enjoyable. Amazingly, the picture and some of the text came through. WWCR was also an issue.

Kicking off a new week of @swradiogram.bsky.social decodes with a surprisingly rough copy of WINB from coastal Alabama. This might be the worst reception I've had this year for this 2330z timeslot. There were multiple MFSK64 text errors but nothing catastrophic. The classic VW image was missed.

This week's @popshopradio.bsky.social via WRMI 5950 was great with songs by Diesel and Hedgehoppers Anonymous that I haven't heard in probably a decade or more. Also, I never knew Ann Wilson was in a band before Heart. I feel like this pic needed to go with the twin-spin songs, though…

I'm a bit late to this, but here are four images from the 0800z @swradiogram.bsky.social via WRMI 5850 kHz, received on the Alabama gulf coast. This was the best of the WRMI-based broadcasts this week.

The gods of propagation were kind to me for the 0230z @swradiogram.bsky.social broadcast from WINB 9265. The first image (in MFSK32) was about as perfect as you can get with this system. From Alabama.

Images from the Thursday 2330z @swradiogram.bsky.social. The thought that a 3cm "aircraft" could be sent up into the mesosphere and could have the ability to send back any data at all is mind boggling. Kilowatt Brewing in Oceanside looks like a neat place. I bet I know who manages it…

Another great @popshopradio.bsky.social episode this week, although I finally broke down and adjusted my audio EQ to make up for whatever WRMI has done to 5950. Los Roveros, Climax Blues Band and The Yardbirds were great! And who doesn't like a BJ… …Thomas record? That song was new to me!

The @radioactiveal.bsky.social birthday image on the #MightyKBC is Wanda Young of the Marvelettes. I had a great signal but the trigger was garbled until I switched to USB mode. Later in the show there was a weird noise on LSB, too. From the 0100z WRMI 5950 broadcast, received on the AL gulf coast.

Four images from the 2300z @swradiogram.bsky.social via WRMI 9455 broadcast, as received in Alabama. This was the strongest broadcast for me so far, but it had some interestingly deep fades that broke MFSK64 text decodes briefly. Some fades are evident in the lifeguard and street lamp images, too.

This week's @swradiogram.bsky.social collage of images is from both of the WINB broadcasts, at 0230z and 2330z. Neither broadcast is stonking good but the Saturday morning one (UTC) is definitely better overall. Both have no errors in text decoding.

I haven't had a chance to listen to this week's @popshopradio.bsky.social yet, but if the playlist is any indication, it's going to be another blast. This week's record label definitely has that "who did what now?" vibe to it. I did also seethe THOR message was decoded, too. From Alabama.
