A fogbow, neon and daffy-dills are just a few of the pleasantly fuzzy images received from the new @swradiogram.bsky.social tonight via WINB. There were a few MFSK64 errors, but the special Olivia mode came through 100%.

Pretty weak conditions on 5850 for the (now later) 0800z @swradiogram.bsky.social. Lots of errors in MFSK32! Somehow, amazingly, 4 MFSK64 images did make it, albeit in pretty ratty condition. From the Alabama gulf coast, where Spring Break is here already and I'm wondering where February went.

Oops, I made a collage of images from the 0330z @swradiogram.bsky.social via WINB 9265 and then totally forgot to post it. The signal was quite good, unless it wasn't, then it was bad, lol. The His & Hers Restaurant pic particularly showed the struggle.

Images for the 0030z @swradiogram.bsky.social via WINB were crazy bad, but not quite as bad as KAE's from South Australia! I seemed to have both a weaker-than-normal signal as well as local RF noise which the NB couldn't quite filter out. Still, all but one pic made it through. From Coastal AL.

The 0800z @swradiogram.bsky.social via WRMI 5850 was quite noisy again this week, with only a few images making it through, and numerous errors in MFSK64 text. Here are four of the better looking images from this morning's broadcast. From coastal Alabama.

On this week's @popshopradio.bsky.social via WRMI 5960, we have great music (Kelly Brown! Jerry Butler! Carole King!) and also Ray Stevens, who is a person that exists. Good signal, and fun listening live for the second week in a row! Even Socks didn't seem to mind that I had the music turned up.

Once again a great signal but an unusually high level of noise, this time for the @swradiogram.bsky.social on WRMI 9455 at 2300z. From coastal Alabama, where temperatures are pushing 80°F/27°C daily already, which makes snowy scenes seem even more foreign.

Bursts of noise marred an otherwise strong signal for the @swradiogram.bsky.social that aired at 0330 UTC via WINB 9265 tonight. From coastal Alabama.

With no decodable results from the 15700 or 7780 WRMI broadcasts, the next @swradiogram.bsky.social caught here on the AL gulf coast was the 0030z WINB one. The theme for these four images is "symmetry". The symmetry in the spider web image is from the repeating dots of noise, lol.

Delightfully ratty @swradiogram.bsky.social images from the 0800z overnight show on 5850. The signal was moderate and the local RF noise was more intense than usual. From coastal Alabama, USA.

An unpleasant surprise for anyone in Canada that relies on alerts for severe weather: Environment Canada is shutting down the VHF weather radio network in March 2026. swling.com/blog/2026/02... Yet another example of short-sighted politicians thinking the internet is infallible, I guess.

More good signal decodes from @swradiogram.bsky.social, this time the 2300z WRMI 9455 broadcast. From coastal Alabama.

Central Park, a snowboarder practising for the Olympics, an owlet and a moon over Huntsville's Monte Santo are four images from the 0330z @swradiogram.bsky.social via WINB 9265, as received on the Alabama gulf coast. It's been a while since both WINB broadcasts looked this good here.

It's always a good day when I can catch up on the current @popshopradio.bsky.social. A good mix of familiar forgotten favorites and things that I've never heard before, like Kingsize Taylor and the highlight for me this week, the Gunter Kallman Choir (which my phone swore was I Monster, lol.)

An almost-perfect set of images from the 0030z @swradiogram.bsky.social tonight from WINB, but some unusually deep fades in the middle of the show caused errors in the prediction market story. One of those fades is quite visible in the commuter rail image, #2 in the collage. The rest are great, tho!

Somehow I managed to snag a few images from the 1530z @swradiogram.bsky.social via WRMI 9955. The MFSK32 text in English and Persian seemed to do fine but MFSK64 was mostly a disaster. Four images received. No usable reception from the 0800z 5850 or 1130z 15770 broadcasts. From coastal Alabama.

Good results from the first @swradiogram.bsky.social of the week via WINB 9265. I was able to use Google Lens to translate the Persian snippet so I assume it was error-free. It even provided a link to the Radio Farda article! Technology is amazing… and kind of scary.

A surprise as the Tuesday 0930z @swradiogram.bsky.social via WRMI 7780 was actually strong enough to get me some results. Six images in total, no Persian text. I'd have gotten all the images but there were some unfortunately-timed signal drops. From coastal Alabama.

@popshopradio.bsky.social FYI, a FB post by WRMI caught my eye... "You probably remember Ian McFarland’s popular SWL Digest program on Radio Canada International. Ian is alive and well and living on the west coast of Canada. He has recently released a series of podcasts called SWL Digest 2025..." .

A weird set of @swradiogram.bsky.social programs… the 0930z 7780 WRMI broadcast was fairly strong but the data wouldn't decode more than a few words in either MFSK32 or 64 (bad EQ?) The 0030z 9265 WINB show was a half-hour late, so my recording only got the stories, Persian text and a few images.

I'm short on time but it looks like this week's @popshopradio.bsky.social will actually be decent enough to be audible here on the AL gulf coast via WRMI 5950, their bad EQ'ing of this frequency notwithstanding. I've had quite a few images out of sync like this lately. Not sure why.

The last @swradiogram.bsky.social of the week ends not with a bang but a whimper, as either the cold or the solar flare(s?) affected all HF reception for me over the last 24 hours. Only five images made it through, and MFSK64 was a mess.

After yesterday's poor reception of the first @swradiogram.bsky.social broadcast of the week, I was worried WINB would struggle again tonight. Luckily it came through with flying colors (and just the right amount of fuzzy noise.)

A not-great start to the week of @swradiogram.bsky.social, with the 0030 WINB signal being full of ups-and-downs that caused garbled text and missed images. Did anyone get reception of the 0800z @swradiogram.bsky.social on 5850? I didn't even have a carrier in my recording this morning.

The 2300z @swradiogram.bsky.social from WRMI 9455 was the best by far of the week, with just a little wobble-fuzz in each image. It seemed to get stronger as the show progressed, too, with these four looking particularly decent. From coastal Alabama.

The 0330z @swradiogram.bsky.social on WINB was… something else. I experienced deep, carrier-killing fades, but also some pretty big jumps in signal for a few seconds at a time. Very unusual, but that's shortwave for you. Here's the four best images of six received. From coastal Alabama.

Wrapping up this evening's flurry of @swradiogram.bsky.social images with these four from the 0800z WRMI 5850 broadcast. All mode triggers worked this time, hurrah! It's been a while since I've seen this wavy-gravy type of signal fluctuation on 5850 kHz. From coastal Alabama.

Just one image from the 1530z @swradiogram.bsky.social via the 9955 WRMI broadcast made it through, which is kind of a surprise. The signal was really weak and most of the MFSK32 text was gibberish. The THOR22 didn't decode at all, as the signal was way in the mud by the end of the show.

Next up is the 2300z @swradiogram.bsky.social from a very robust WRMI 9455 kHz broadcast. Despite the good-to-great signal, most of the mode triggers were missed again. I'm beginning to wonder if it's an issue with Fldigi 4.2.11, which has also switched a difficult-to-read text rendering style.

Pardon me while I get caught up on a few @swradiogram.bsky.social broadcast decodes… first up, the 0330z edition with three images from Washington DC, plus the painting of the week. The THOR22 and MFSK64 missed triggers in both WINB broadcasts and had to be done manually. From the AL gulf coast.
