It's not much to crow about, but this was my first ever usable decode of a Japan Meteo #wefax broadcast. From 7795 kHz at approximately 1300z, received in Alabama. Finding this was made much easier by using #WaveViewDX, an excellent IQ file reader for SW and MW SDR recordings.

More great reception for this repeat-week @swradiogram.bsky.social via WINB at 0330z. I don't think Edward R. Murrow looked that good via over the air TV back then as he does in this photo over shortwave! From a very chilly coastal Alabama.

Yesterday when my RF noise was bad, I took a portable radio out to find out where it was coming from. In the time it took me to get outside, it stopped and hasn't been back! So the 0030z WINB @swradiogram.bsky.social decodes looked really good this evening. From coastal Alabama, USA.

As I mentioned in a prior Radiogram post, my 5-6 MHz is swamped with new RF noise, so this week's @popshopradio.bsky.social was an unlistenable mess. Amazingly, though, the image triggered and most of the playlist decoded… The Olivia was the only part that was error-free, however. From Alabama.

I had no luck with the 1530z @swradiogram.bsky.social on 9955, had preempted 9455 for another recording, and was left with a pretty ratty set of images from the 0800z 5850 broadcast due wideband RF noise centered around 5600 kHz. So, not a great way to end a week's recordings. From Alabama.

Since I fell a little behind on my @swradiogram.bsky.social decodes, I just decided to pick the best images from the 0030z and 0330z WINB shows and combined them into one collection. Both broadcasts had quite variable signals; Edward R. Murrow and the goose were relatively poor for both broadcasts.

Some stragglers from a few @swradiogram.bsky.social that I don't regularly decode here: The leaf and painting were from the 1330z 15770 WRMI broadcast, whose signal perked up towards the end of the show, and the bus is from the new 0930z 7780 WRMI slot, which was strong to start but faded quickly.

Well, I'm a dumbass. After decoding the @popshopradio.bsky.social image and playlist from 5950 WRMI, I deleted the file before I actually listened to it! I am so low on space I'm over aggressively deleting things. Thank goodness there are downloads available. I really need a fourth hard drive!

The best way to describe reception of the 0800z @swradiogram.bsky.social here in Alabama this morning is "yikes". MFSK32 text held out pretty much error free, but the faster mode was about 50% gibberish. Six images total and I believe these four were the only ones who came through without my help.

I think the 0330z @swradiogram.bsky.social was even worse for reception than yesterday's broadcast. I did get all the images but not without some struggle. Weirdly, it looked like the lower sideband was consistently stronger than the upper. Go figure. From coastal Alabama, USA.

The 0030z @swradiogram.bsky.social wasn't very good here on the AL gulf coast earlier this evening, but seemed to get better as it went along. Hopefully the next set of broadcasts is better. We deserve doggos in full quality! The aurora was only barely visible here, and only with camera help.

I got pretty lucky with this week's @popshopradio.bsky.social on WRMI 5950… The signal was pretty great all the way up to near the end, but it held out enough to get this decent image. Highlights: Neil Sedaka, Slovak George Harrison (!) and a Swedish Shade of Pale. That's what I'm calling it. #swl

Between schedule snafus and bad condx, I've missed more @swradiogram.bsky.social broadcasts than I've decoded this week, lol. The 0800z broadcast made it through, though! The signal wasn't amazing but all the images decoded. Hoping next week is better.

What a difference 20 minutes makes! Tonight's #MightyKBC broadcast was gangbusters for a while. Right after the @radioactiveal.bsky.social birthday image of Joni Mitchell, the signal took a sharp nosedive and never recovered. Frankly, the fact I got two SSTV triggers anyway was pretty wild.

A pretty good start to the week with the first @swradiogram.bsky.social from WINB decoding quite nicely. I did have some weird text errors in both MFSK32 and 64, though. Not sure what was up with that.

The time change sure didn't help my reception of the 1530z @swradiogram.bsky.social via WRMI 9955 kHz… This Chinese gingko tree was the only image that triggered during the entire broadcast.

Halloween means pirates on shortwave! I was able to record a few hours of the main pirate band and snagged at least 5 different broadcasts, some of which had really great signals (and music!) Here are three SSTV images decoded from Wolverine Radio (my first pirate years ago), V-Sky and Ballsmacker.

Was hoping the 2300z @swradiogram.bsky.social on WRMI would show up in force like it's been doing for the last few weeks, but… eh, this isn't nearly as good as I was expecting. Guess winter propagation has started to affect reception.

The 0230z WINB @swradiogram.bsky.social still lacked the great picture quality I was hoping for, but these are in improvement over yesterday's broadcast. From coastal Alabama.

Kinda meh reception of the first @swradiogram.bsky.social of the week, hopefully tomorrow's/today's will be better. Kim's story of fiddly antenna work on the ground & how hard it is when you're old is too relatable. I'm not technically old but I am old-adjacent and get many of the 'perks' already.

A bit of a glitch in the image for this week's @popshopradio.bsky.social, which is the record label for a Hindi cover of Funkytown. You never know what you're gonna hear on shortwave! Can't wait to sit down and enjoy the rest of the show later tonight. This and Lill Lindfors sound intriguing.

The audio for this weekend's #MightyKBC was a bit too weak to enjoy the music again, but the @radioactiveal.bsky.social image of the week and the three duplicate DX Headlines SSTV images managed to decode, so that's something. From the AL gulf coast. Whatever SSTV mode was used first looked best.

It's amazing that anything decoded at all! A few images from the weak and jammed @swradiogram.bsky.social at 1430z on WRMI's 9955 frequency. There were a ton of errors in both MFSK32 and 64, but amazing 8 images in total came through.

This week's #MightyKBC birthday image by @radioactiveal.bsky.social is Chubby Checker, who once got himself all in a twist (hah) over a phone app that used a man's shoe size to check the size of his… you know… I think he wound up settling with HP for an undisclosed sum.

it's another showing of @swradiogram.bsky.social, this time from WRMI 9455 at 2300z. This has proven to be quite a good signal for me on the AL gulf coast, often as good as one of the WINB broadcasts. There are a lot of amazing carvings shown but "Bear cub in a tree stump" might be my favorite.
