Dmitri definitely felt this way when he was trying to leave the Fists. He thought there was no way out besides death of himself. I think when he went on that last mission, he knew there was no way he was coming back.

I think I have a different insecurity issue with Achilles. They’re my princess ofc but I think I’m nervous about using she/her and stick to they/them because I worry about… trans femme stuff? Like I can’t portray it? I guess? I worry about speaking over actual trans women, as a trans masc person
