The first thing a GM needs to do after putting together Plan A is to go around to each spot on the roster and ask “what do you do if this guy gets hurt?” In that regard Blaze Alexander, a very versatile player with just 1 year of service time, was an excellent pickup. Credit to Mike there.

I basically agree with this. I don’t see anything fundamentally preventing him from succeeding in terms of range. hands and footwork have improved. His throwing actions are bad. If he sticks it’ll be because he hits and gets to enough balls to justify the occasional throwing error.

I like Blaze Alexander and think he was a solid and fortuitous acquisition given the infield injuries the Orioles are now dealing with. That said, there's a lot of whiff and the underlying data doesn't fully support his 2025 batting line. PECOTA and OOPSY project him as 10-15 percent below average.

The #1 thing I'll be looking for from Shane Baz this spring is his cutter/slider shape & usage. The slider used to be a weapon, but the shape has changed, he couldn't locate it last year and it got torched. He ditched it for a promising cutter, which could be a crucial bridge pitch against RHP.

Maybe, but I think planning for a 6-man rotation is probably the best way to end up with a solid 5-man rotation given the frequency of pitcher injuries.
