Today we developed our understanding of regulation. Learners explored their backpacks & reflected on strategies & tools that support them when they experience big emotions. Lots of lovely chat about how important it is to Pause, choose & take the lead, to give our brain just what it needs! ✨

The Burj Khalifa appeared in P2 today! We designed, built, measured & re planned when children discovered it was not 828 metres tall yet… it’s under construction 🚧

Today brought a wonderful ‘OH WOW!’ Moment as I shared my experience of mud painting with my class. The excitement was palpable, even just the photos sparked curiosity, well before their own hands got muddy. It was then a joy to watch them explore & connect with place and their community!

Today’s morning mindfulness challenge was to draw and write about something that made you smile this week. The delight on my face when one child showed me this 😍

ADHD is thinking about all the things you have to do, getting stressed about all the things, worrying about the consequences of not doing the things, but still feeling stuck and unable to do any of the things.

Today we read ‘Silly Billy’ which looks at children’s worries & how we cope with them. Grandma comes to help with some Guatamalen worry dolls. After our story many children expressed a wish for their own worry doll. So that is what we spent our afternoon creating, our own worry dolls!

Fridays outdoors in the orchard! 🌱 We explored the area, found LOTS of mini beasts & said hello to the chickens! 🐞🐛🐓 I was super proud when we found the snails…obviously 🐌

First day of nursery, first day of Primary 1! Today, my heart is full as my dream becomes a reality and I finally get to welcome my very own class! 💜 We did it ⭐️

I kicked off my day with my P2 class I’ll be teaching next year by reading them one of my favourites 🤩 I’ll never tire of seeing the wonder on children’s faces when I read this book! Afterwards, we began turning our classroom into a home by creating some brilliant self portraits!

Today in Primary 6 we focussed on children’s rights & explored Articles 31 & 24. Thoughtful discussions nearly brought me to tears! We made self-care backpacks, danced, built Minecraft scenes & created Play-Doh animations, all led by the children. They learned, played & felt pure joy! 🌈💛 #UoEPGDEp

Connectives! Children loved creating webs and the silliest of sentences today when learning about connectives! Our pencil under the desk some how made its way to the zoo! We were then able to transfer this learning to our writing and up level our own sentences ⭐ #UoEPGDEp

HWB off to a wonderful start! I adapted something we learned at uni & it worked so well! After our gallery walk we discussed how we felt whilst doing this, with one child telling us all that it helped her get out all her sad 💭 very excited to see where our next lesson takes us 🙊 #UoEPGDEp
