Sallisaw is cleaning up after yesterday's severe storms. Winds caused significant damage to the hospital in Sallisaw with some homes damaged as well. #okwx

6:40pm: The cold front has pushed through Tulsa, so severe weather threats are coming to an end in the metro. Scattered strong to severe storms will continue this evening along and ahead of the cold front as it pushes into far eastern/southeastern Oklahoma. #okwx

5:18pm: Heavy storms rumbling across the Tulsa metro. They’re not severe right now, but this will slow down the evening commute. #okwx

A Tornado Watch is in effect from Tulsa County to the east this afternoon into this evening. As storms develop in these areas, they could become severe and a few tornadoes are possible in addition to damaging winds and large hail. Stay weather aware! #okwx

TUESDAY AFTERNOON UPDATE: Severe threats are increasing across far eastern Oklahoma. With a hot, muggy, unstable airmass in place near and south of Tulsa, scattered storms will quickly become severe by the mid-afternoon hours. #okwx

It's the first full day of fall... but it won't feel like it. Temperatures will heat up this afternoon before more storms develop, and with a very MUGGY airmass in place we'll have summerlike heat indices near and south of Tulsa. 🥵 #okwx

7:05 AM: Storms continue to move across far northeastern Oklahoma from Adair to Miami to Grand Lake. Very heavy rains are the biggest concern with these storms, which could lead to some street flooding for the morning drive. #okwx

5:45 AM: Heavy storms are skirting across the northern side of the Tulsa metro, with additional heavy storms across Osage, Washington, and Nowata Counties and across SE KS. These are still well below severe limits, but gusty winds are possible and heavy rains could lead to street flooding. #okwx

4:30 AM Tuesday: Strong storms continue to roll across far northeastern Oklahoma and southeast Kansas. These are still well below severe limits but producing a big lightning show along with some gusty winds and heavy rain. #okwx

3:35 AM Tuesday: The first round of storms is moving east into Osage County and Chautauqua County, KS. These are not terribly intense at the moment and have actually been on a weakening trend recently, but we'll keep watching them. Gusts to 40 mph, frequent lightning, and heavy rain expected. #okwx

Stay weather aware Tuesday! We're expecting two rounds of storms that will bring severe weather threats, one in the morning and another to follow in the afternoon and early evening. #okwx

8:30 AM TULSA TRAFFIC HEADS UP: A crash on westbound I-244 at State Highway 11 is causing some big headaches. This is leading to standstill traffic on both directions of US-169 that converge on I-244. Avoid this area if you can! #TulsaTraffic

6:45pm: Strong storms with gusty winds continue across far eastern/southeastern OK. Localized flooding will be possible. #okwx

5:05pm: Strong to severe storms continue across Sequoyah County and northeastern Haskell County. Quarter size hail and 60 mph winds possible. #okwx

4:18pm: The Tornado Warning has been allowed to expire, but we’re still watching some rotation tracking east toward Tamaha in far northern Haskell County. 60 mph winds and hail also possible with this severe storm. #okwx

4:00pm: A Tornado Warning is in effect for southern Muskogee County. An area of circulation between Porum and Warner could produce a brief tornado as it moves east toward Gore and Simms. Live coverage right now on News On 6. #okwx

3:40pm: Two severe storms continue from Muskogee to Warner moving east. Damaging 60 mph winds and quarter size hail are possible. Storms from Talala to Pryor to Wagoner are not severe but have a lot of lightning, heavy rain, and gusty winds. #okwx

2:25pm: Heavy storms rolling back into the Tulsa metro. Some bursts of gusty wind with these storms. #okwx

Another round of showers and storms will flare up across eastern and southeastern Oklahoma this afternoon through this evening. The highest chances look to be near and east/south of Tulsa. Once again a few storms could still become strong to severe with damaging wind gust and hail potential. #okwx

10:55pm: Storms have been on a weakening trend around Tulsa and the surrounding metro. But flash flooding will remain a concern as storms move over locations that have already received very heavy rains tonight. #okwx

10:00pm: Rowdy storms continue over Tulsa, sliding slowly southeast. Wind gusts up to 60 mph could still occur on the east side of the metro from Catoosa to Broken Arrow. Torrential rains will also lead to some areas of flash flooding. #okwx

9:10pm: Severe storms are dropping southeast towards Tulsa. Strong winds over 50 mph could occur on the north side of the metro around Skiatook and Sperry. And these storms also have a ton of lightning with them. Head indoors! #okwx

8:42pm: Storms have been parked over Collinsville for a while now, with more backbuilding down to Owasso. Damaging 60 mph winds and quarter to half dollar size hail possible. I’d also watch out for potential flooding. #okwx

8:05pm: Strong to severe storms continue in western Osage/Pawnee Counties and on the north side of the Tulsa metro. Damaging 60 mph wind gusts could occur. These also have a ton of lightning and will drop some very heavy rains as they are slow-movers. #okwx

7:10pm: Scattered severe storms are flaring up in northeastern OK. These will continue to spread east with time tonight. Damaging winds and hail are the main threats. There is a *very* limited low risk for a brief tornado if a storm develops some rotation. We’ll be watching. #okwx

It remains absolutely crazy that OU’s defense has been this good without forcing a single turnover. But… I’d be totally fine with that streak continuing through Kent State if it means getting ten turnovers against Texas. Just some food for thought, fellas. 😁 #BoomerSooner

Showers & storms will develop tonight across Kansas and drop down into southeast Kansas and northeastern Oklahoma early Saturday morning. Some of these storms could be locally quite heavy with some gusty winds as well. Areas south of Tulsa will have a much lower chance of seeing these storms. #okwx

Temperatures will climb quickly tomorrow in Norman ahead of OU's afternoon game against Auburn. It looks a bit toasty by gametime, so stay hydrated! There is at least a slight chance that a shower or storm could pop up nearby, especially towards the end of the game.

We've got Friday football and great weather in Stillwater for Oklahoma State vs Tulsa! Warm weather at kickoff with light winds and pleasant conditions during the game.

The rest of our Friday looks beautiful across Green Country! But an active weather pattern continues with more off-and-on storm chances to come. We're still warm the next several days. By mid to late next week, we're still seeing signs of a cooler airmass moving in. #okwx
