Got the SPI between the Flora and #RPi working today! Have to say there is not a lot of good documentation for using SPI with the Flora. I may have to write something.

I read that bookworm would run poorly on any #raspberrypi below version 3, so I wasn't sure #trixie would work well. It did indeed run pretty slowly on the first boot on my #RPi 2 model B, but after that it seems to be smooth sailing.

A good deal of my day was spent again on this fun little project! Check out the details in my commit (see next post). Got it working with FluidSynth and a rock guitar soundfont in the below video. The basics are working i.e. strings pressed cause a midi note to be played. Caveats shared below. ⬇️

This was a thought provoking article, and well written. In the past I have called myself optimistic towards technology. After all, I am spending my life building it. But as builders we have to take responsibility for our part in safeguarding against the possible negative applications of tech too.

I would not use AI for this and I think it's not a good idea to offload this when the whole point is to evaluate the science carefully and thoughtfully.
