Finally put that unused Pi monitor to good use on my bench… Pi5 desktop setup so I can bring up capacitor maps, schematics, install guides etc Also got a handy Bluetooth keyboard/touch pad that can be tucked away when not in use 👍🏻

The process of saving this customers Game Gear is underway and so far looking good Was completely DOA on arrival, as usual entire board was leaking all over Removed and cleaned board and got new caps on, it’s alive! Now to get IPS screen installed!

First step of doing a FRAM mod on a Sega CD? Check to see if current battery is still holding data and then backup to cart for transfer to new FRAM chip once done Customer gets the benefit of FRAM (no relying on battery) while not losing their saves I see Sonic CD and Snatcher!

Got a Model 1 Sega CD on the bench right now and let me tell you inside its the nicest condition one I've ever seen Not a spec of rust on the shield, no leaking caps, reads every disc I insert, no grinding noises, etc. This thing is like a retro fuckin unicorn 🦄

I'm always more nostalgic for Duke and I think Blood is the best Build engine game but SW is still incredible. Some really creative level design, addition of vehicles and like any good Build engine game... awesome weapons!

Working on a Sega Saturn with JVC EXL-P605 drive Besides being filthy the plastic has turned orange which is quite strange never seen that before 🤔

Got some orange filament for a Dreamcast project coming up, and of course first time with any new stuff I have to print a benchy 🚢 So glad I came across this AnyCubic printer when it was on early bird sale. Been a game changer in the shop. Fast, reliable, multi color etc 🙏

Question for any GameBoy experts… I’ve fixed many DMG with vertical lines using the iron drag across bottom flex But what about horizontal lines? Info seems sparse and unreliable, weirdly it’s also not the full line so worried I’m chasing dead pixels…

For some reason WooCommerce does not have built in method for sorting by stock status Any time I'd add a new refurbished console it would get dropped in randomly behind out of stock items. Made the page look sloppy, finally fixed for free with one small line of PHP code!

Besides the failing ribbons causing no video in either or both eyes, another super common failure point on Virtual Boys I see is cracked solder joints on the audio board This one had intermittent/distorted sound and here ls why:

Got a Game Gear in the shop to try and fix a customers recap attempt gone bad, looks like they tried using ceramics then gave up Only 2 pads missing/damaged but many others needing thorough cleaning and prep for new cap kit If I get it working they want BennVenn GGHD screen 👍🏻
