I always look forward to the annual Otherwise Award, "an annual literary prize for science fiction or fantasy that expands or explores our understanding of gender." This selection looks intriguing, and I'm quite curious about The Everlasting and Part-Time Girl from the long list as well.

I really, really recommend all of @liamslade.bsky.social's TG-TF books, but "Both" is my absolute favorite. Start with it if you want, or save it for last as an extra special treat, but don't miss it!

Essentially! It's a character-driven genre, and moments/ sensations matter because they affect characters we've connected with. Story matters because we as readers care about what *happens* to those characters (and story turns deepen our empathy for them), but "sensation" is still central.
