A fish out of water! One of the 'Bruce' sharks hoisted and being carefully maneuvered on Martha's Vineyard. Named after Steven Spielberg's then (and still) lawyer Bruce Ramer, numerous sharks were built to achieve the various 'shark action' in #JAWS.

Alex’s death was originally filmed as a much gorier moment, with Bruce rising from the water and biting him. It was ultimately left out due to its brutality, and because Spielberg didn’t want the shark revealed so early—so the scene was cut from the final film 🦈 #JAWS

Bruce, the shark from #Jaws had to be covered as #film makers felt the success of the #movie was largely dependent on the #shark. After a break-in at 'shark city', photos of Bruce were leaked to the press, so he was literally kept under wraps for the rest of production.
