Final Fantasy music will always be my go to. 13 this year for some reason stood out more than usual. Really hoping we get that remaster. Also I've never played Nier Automata and found myself listening to that OST. I need to get that playthrough going. I'm sure it'll be a good crying session.

Celebrating 9 years since we first drove off into the horizon on an unforgettable road trip in Final Fantasy XV. What was the best recipe you made on this journey?

Final Fantasy 15 released 9 years ago. I have a weird relationship with this game. I had come home from my Dad's funeral to find my copy waiting for me. The ultimate edition for $350 that I bought after being persuaded by friends to buy. (I was a little drunk during that call which helped)

I have a rule not to drink to feel better. I also have a rule that I'm allowed to drink on holidays. Bob's drinking math dictates that the holiday rule overrules the feel better rule. My vacation got cancelled after having to fire a couple people so enjoying what little free time I can. Cheers.

Lung collapsed at work today (I'm fine, this is normal). Small collapse and won't need a hospital visit as long as I take it easy but the combined issue of age and not being in shape sorta proving that eventually I'm going to have to find something less physically demanding for work.

Forgot to update here. I occasionally go searching for older games to add to my collection. Picked up these three. I don't know if they'll ever be ported to modern hardware but wanted to secure my physical copy before prices went up. Overall spent $70.

Had wine the other night so the no drinking streak ended at 225 days. Never was intentional but given it's my last day of vacation, I'm going to enjoy it. Cheers.

In the past week I have twice been woken up with a call that a former coworker had passed away unexpectedly. Both good people that I haven't interacted with much in recent years but was always happy to see them and catch up.

A bit late but finally finished Attack on Titan. Last season while enjoyable felt like a different show than the rest of the series. The show worked better when it was more about the mystery of the Titans than when it focused on the opposing sides of war.

Mild Facebook argument I got in. In response to someone posting a copy of an unsealed Chrono Trigger for $1000, someone said "piracy is not theft". So I responded "well it is theft as Chrono trigger is available on modern devices (PC, steam deck, android devices)

Workplace drama going on. Everyone is mad at everyone. Everyone talked shit about each other to me. I shared what everyone said with everyone. Now the entire store is refusing to talk to each other. They're all working in silence. This has been the best day of work in a long time.

Nobuo Uematsu said he composed the iconic OG Final Fantasy Prelude song in just 15 minutes! He said they just finished FF1 and were like “Yay! We finished”, then Hironobu Sakaguchi rushed in and said “Quick, make a song now! Because we have to submit various things to Nintendo. Make a song now!”

Expedition 33 for me was a 10/10 game. No game is without flaws. Just some thoughts on it. None of these are things that would make you stop playing the game. The pictos menu isn't great. The favorites option isn't enough. We need loadouts. Too many build possibilities to not have loadouts.

I'm definitely late on this but I finally beat Expedition 33. A truly beautiful piece of art. I want to sit on my thoughts for both the story and gameplay just a bit longer until I finish the end game content but I'll say this. There's no such thing as a perfect game, but this is close enough. 10/10
