The bad news from various fronts in academia appears to just keep on coming. 😞😞😞

#a2council it's clear that to Rabhi public/private partnerships are (for brevity I'll say) "bad." That position is dumb. If what we want as progressives is to have more control over the bad behaviors of private economic entities, shouldn't we want to form partnerships — in order to get more control?

Substitute any minority identity for "trans" in Ms. Wu's formulation here, and any reasonable person would instantly recognize how horrifying her statement is. Self-loathing this extreme cries out for more time spent in medical treatment, not in more social media posting.

Is the #a2council space here an appropriate one to discuss the past work of mayoral candidate Rabhi? I know he's worked in government for over a decade, but what I'm able to find online about his career reads like a resume & I'd like to see some information that feels less like self-promotion.

What can we do about all these people whose hearts are so filled with vicious cruelty? The problem will require a multivariate approach, and more of us have to start doing things to help kindness and compassion rise up within people's hearts.

One of the truly great things about the world we live in is how many things there are that are vastly more interesting than the Harry Potter series. The list is literally infinite in length.

Today I learned, #a2council, that one of the candidates in Ward 3 doesn't know that the "C" in CLUP stands for "Comprehensive". Repeated at least twice, so it's not just a typo. Makes me wonder if there could be other intentionally counterfactual statements on this candidate's website.

Here's a very simple question we can now put to all candidates for #a2council and mayor in the run up to the August 4th primary: If you had been seated on council at the March 16th meeting this year, would you have voted yes or no on approval of the revised comprehensive land use plan?

Thanks to #a2council for passing (a version of) what we elected you to accomplish w/ the revised Comprehensive Land Use Plan 💖💖 I invite you to pick up the pace a bit now & push some new zoning ordinances through during this campaign season so folks can see the strong leadership they're voting for.

#a2council The toxicity of national politics has thoroughly poisoned campaign discourse, & many voters are primed to be suspicious of candidates' motives. Some candidates & their supporters feel compelled (knowingly or otherwise) to prey upon such suspicions. I'd like to see that stop here in A².
