On Friday evening we hosted a Shabbat dinner at Rhodes House, co-organised with Jewish #RhodesScholars. Shabbat, the day of rest, occurs from sundown on Friday until sundown on Saturday every week. Scholars gathered in Rhodes House to break bread together over some delicious food and conversation.

#RhodesScholar John van Zyl discovered radio as a schoolboy — debating, participating in radio programmes, and learning the power of sound to shape society. "The concept of community radio was a very political one. It was meant to be the people’s voice," he shared for our Oral History Project.

Last week we hosted our panel discussion in partnership with The World Reimagined, on the topic of AI in Education. We welcomed speakers Kelly Webb-Davies, Seth Washington and Suki Fuller + moderator Jovan Owusu-Nepaul. They shared their learnings from policy, intelligence, linguistics and beyond.
