Great afternoon on Saturday with our new rowers doing their capsize drill and swim test!

A rather soggy affair, but far from a damp squib, the Benefactors' Regatta was a fitting finale to an exceptionally close series with 4 draws out of the 7 events. Well done to all the rowers who competed tonight. @kesoea.bsky.social

And unbelievably close race to complete the regatta was won by a canvas (a very small amount) by the @kesoea.bsky.social to level the score 4-4, resulting in a draw and therefore sealing an overall OEs victory, 4-3, after an unprecedented 4 draws across the series.

And another win for the Old Eds takes it to 4-3 with just the mixed quads to go

A strong win for @kes-stratford.bsky.social in the first ever pairs race takes them into a 4-2 lead with 2 to go

But the @kesoea.bsky.social pull back to in a row ro make it 3-2.

And followed up by two more wins for Poppy & Ollie. The School take a 3-0 lead early in the Regatta.

Good start for the School with Seth and Xavier beating Milo and Archie in the first race.

Great day at Stratford Regatta yesterday! Some great performances from our K.E.S. rowers. Holly/Alice & Xavier successfully made it to the final in their events. Our J16 2x & J18 B1x didn’t quite get there but with little experience going in they will have learnt lots from the day. Well done all!

Keeping cool (if that was actually possible) during our session this afternoon. Bring on a scorcher of a day for Stratford Regatta tomorrow! Our first race is Archie and Seth in J182x at 9:28 as they try to defend their title! (Ollie subbed in while Archie was in his final exam this afternoon!)

We had a great day at the Ball Cup South on Sunday. The girls took a dominant win in the girls Ball Cup Quads with the boys missing out by just 1l in the Boys Ball Cup Quads. We came away with 2 golds and 3 silvers from the regatta with a number of other finalists too!
