6 am, time to read about cadavers. “Unclaimed bodies can’t consent at all, and the use of unclaimed bodies in medical education is widely considered unethical.”

Certain right wing assholes understand this perfectly, whereas almost all people in power that are ostensibly on the side of democracy have no idea how to communicate this well.

The only real power (which could be substantial!) they have/had is leaning into actual reporting/defending their own interests. Welp.

Sure, you can joke about anything! Except being a journalist and being decapitated in another country. Or sex. Or misogyny. Or anti-Semitism. Or MBS. Are any of the thousands of princes. But really, almost total freedom!

Today I spoke with Greg Bovino, a top U.S. Border Patrol chief, as he led dozens of feds in military gear through downtown Chicago. He said they were arresting folks based on “how they look.” “How do they look compared to, say, you?” he said, referring to me.

Shoutout to Godofredo, the original owner of my Subaru, who meticulously maintained it for 33 years until he died in 2023. It was just his regular everyday car, but he took such good care of it that it's now one of the best remaining examples of a first-generation Subaru Legacy in the Midwest.

Asking my dad just now “how ya doing, dad?” Is the most compassion I can muster. He knows I have a trans girlfriend. He knows I have leftist opinions. I dunno what to say.

There’s no way. I don’t believe almost all humans in this context. Absolutely wild if true, would have thought it was like 80% regular, 20% people that somehow avoided all references to death until they were 35

The free speech activist who built a list of professors he worked to get fired for their speech must be celebrated for his support of free speech, and anyone who quotes his speech accurately in context will be fired and/or face state punishment by the champions of free speech, do I have that right?

I think the fact that its a platform-based criticism is also a signal of terminal online brain. It is also deeply embarrassing on a personal level, far more so than any association with like. The imagined fantasy of a loony activist. Imagine going to a rust belt diner and talking about Blueskyism

if people yell at you for advocating "moderation" on trans rights on Bluesky but not on Twitter the reason for that might be because Elon Musk, the guy who runs and owns Twitter, explicitly censored trans people's accounts and posts.

It’s my fault, I admit. I’ve been warning for years of what fascism is and what it does, relating stories from 1930s and 40s Europe and Japan to my extremely patient friends. I didn’t attempt to reach a wider audience because this shit is depressing and annoying. It’s on me, folks.

This is one of those things. Every alarm in every sector is being sounded, even in some mainstream media(!!) but zero people with actual power are calling this emergency out for what it is.
