Air pollution can drive devastating forms of dementia, research suggests
Airborne particles cause toxic clumps of proteins in brain that are hallmarks of Lewy body dementia, study indicates Fine-particulate air pollution can drive devastating forms of dementia by triggering the formation of toxic clumps of protein that destroy nerve cells as they spread through the brain, research suggests. Exposure to the airborne particles causes proteins in the brain to misfold into the clumps, which are hallmarks of Lewy body dementia, the second most common form of dementia after Alzheimerâs disease. Parents urged to get children vaccinated after measles death in Liverpool
Child reportedly died at Alder Hey hospital amid surge of measles cases in city Health officials have urged people to come forward for the measles vaccine if they are not up-to-date with their shots after a child at Alder Hey childrenâs hospital in Liverpool died from the disease. The city has experienced a surge in cases among young people, with the hospital warning parents last week that the spike in infections was due to falling rates of uptake of the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine. On the longest day of the year, and one of the hottest too, many of us will be heading outside for al fresco dining. Remember, leave your BBQs at home - the landscape is tinder-dry and just a small spark can lead to miles of devastating damage. Spread a love of nature, not a fire. Thank you.

In the 35 years before privatisation, almost 100 reservoirs were built. In the years since, private water firms haven't built any and sold off 25. After selling off critical infrastructure for profit, water bosses on huge salaries now tell us we're the problem.

Jeff Bezos has more money than any human could spend - and heâs wasting it on planet-wrecking joy rides to space while people on earth starve. Why donât we just tax the super-rich and use that money to fix wealth inequality AND the climate crisis?
