Nearly got hit by a car because you still haven't installed pedestrian crossings at Battersea Bridge. People have died here, but there's still no safe way to cross from the north-west.

GEORDIE TRANSLATOR (2025) George’s strong accent and blunt matter mean she’s unsuccessful in job interviews, despite her great credentials. So she hires a posh southerner to ‘translate’ her answers while she sits in another room on the phone.

Absolutely insane to see thousands of posts about the wildfires in LA from the biggest organisations and individuals in Hollywood, talking about how to stop the fires and raise money to rebuild, yet not a single one of them mentions climate change. I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone.

This is how politics should be done. When people say a vote for the Greens is a wasted vote, they forget that people in power change their views because they get pressure from the more radical politicians out there.

Just heard someone using Gemini for the first time and it seems Alphabet has added the subtle sighs and 'breaths' from 'Her' (2013). Someone is definitely going to get marrying their phone's AI by the end of the year.

If anyone in the UK theatre scene (or elsewhere) is looking for Shakespeare-esque new writing, I've got a witty and thought-provoking play about actors fleeing to France under Cromwell and how that led to women being allowed on stage in England post-Interregnum.

21 of the shows currently at the 39 West End theatres are adapted from novels, films or TV; four are biographical/jukebox musicals; two are new adaptations of myths and legends; two are musicals based on history; and six are other revivals. There are only four original shows on the West End.

Whoever wrote this consultation must be a bot. I refuse to believe that a human being could earnestly write, 'Two major strengths of the UK economy are its creative industries and AI sector. Both are essential to drive economic growth and deliver the government’s Plan for Change.'

Looking for two actors (any age or gender) for a Zoom readthrough of 'An Acquired Taste' tomorrow (18th) at noon. This near-future play deals with the ethics of the meat and textile industries in a darkly comic matter.

Any Geordie actresses in London interested in appearing in a comedy short film in January/February? One day of filming, pays £100 and is about someone who hires a 'translator' for a job interview at a snobby, classist London firm.

PSA: If you make a joke that's formatted in such a way that most people wouldn't realise it's a joke, you're not good at comedy. Jokes follow rules and structures so they're clearly distinguishable from facts or opinions.

“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record. They run them bc people react to them the most. If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change. It’s not easy and takes constant practice!

Listening to the taxing private schools debate, some MPs are opposing on peculiar basis of providing "our children" with good education. But only ~6% can afford private school, so I'll be voting for a wider definition of "our" children who deserve a good education: ALL children.
