#NowPlaying #MusicSky It's been a while since I extolled the qualities of the #Humminguru Nova but this copy sounded a bit leaden and pretty quiet. Now after a deep clean it sounds sparkling, expansive and loud. It still amazes me that just cleaning can do this.

I'm a great believer in publicising great service. The service we had from Santander this morning, sorting out Jo's mum's affairs and some of ours was brilliant. Neither of us was looking forward to it, but the lady was incredibly sympathetic and helpful. Take note HSBC and Co-Op probate services.

We all really should be snapping up media like CDs, DVDs, Blurays, books and so forth. What else are you going to do with your time when the digital apocalypse happens? Right now CDs/DVDs/books are so unpopular that charity shops sell 3 for a quid. I reckon we've lost our minds.

#NowPlaying #MusicSky Another CD from Sunday's haul. An absolute classic with one of the most misleading, unsettling, and funny covers in music. With a bonus live disc.

One of the great Columbo moments. It both reveals his interior life in a way we're not used to while remaining inscrutable. Was he afraid he wouldn't crack the case? Was the killing particularly brutal for him? Did he particularly despise Dick Van Dyke (who is fiercely unlikable in this episode)?

This has hit the nail on the head. The sadness at the end of many Colombo episodes is part of its genius. Peter Falk was incredible.
