It's been a while since I shared a #MOC, but I had the opportunity to build this personal model for our EXO-FORCE COLLAB at Skærbæk Fan Weekend with a lot of other LEGO Designers! I got to work on reimagining the Blade Titan, which was one of the Exo Force sets I had as a kid

Frak! I'm really happy with how I did his outfit, I couldn't decide whether to do his part 1 or 2 fit so I went with both. Personally I like how it sort of symbolizes him breaking out of the standard ninja gi into something that fits his personality more (tacticool).

I did the very first sketch for what became the #Ninjago Ras and Arin’s Super Storm Jet, it changed a lot. It was originally going to be more of a team vehicle with some command space inside and a mech that was dropped off the back. I lost the mech sadly, but it was a fun style exploration.

I’ll talk a bit about my involvement with the #Ninjago Legends: Monstrosity sets. I worked on the Fire Knight mech. Initially, it was gonna be Jay’s. I started off exploring a Ninjago mech with more of a knight aesthetic. I did a bunch of these sketches before I started building.

Here’s a look at the very first sketch model, for what became the Nya Samurai X Mech for #Ninjago Crystalized. It was way too big and ended up being switched to Nya’s mech as the writers continued to work on the story. It explored the limits of the new hip/shoulder joint we made.

Just got done watching A Minecraft Movie. Took a picture right afterwards to convey my feelings on it. I went in with low expectations and left in awe. That movie was made for me and I had an unironic blast watching it.

Watching BioSector01 replace the character images from their comic appearances with CG renders, most of which are on either a transparent or white background, feels like watching a soul leave a body. Super disappointing, makes it feel like the Wikia.

So, my buddy Kevin (Feige, of course) reached out and was like: "Matthew, my friend, it's time to bring the Prince back." And my response was simple, I said: "Kevin, buddy, I've always been right here. I mean, what's the worst that could happen, I bankrupt Marvel?" And then we laughed and laughed...

During our career (writing for Spider-Man, Star Wars, Ninjago etc...) we've gotten personal attacks and even death threats over scripts. That's not cool. But a YouTuber with well-thought-out criticism (and no personal attacks) is a healthy thing to have in fandom, even if you disagree with them.

Anybody in the Ninjago fandom who is actually angry at ParachutingKitten’s Dragons Rising video and going after her personally gets no respect from me. People like you who worship Ninjago and its creators as completely above critique are my least favorite part of the fandom.

I grow increasingly frustrated when I have an issue I need to call customer support about that routes me through 7 levels of automation. I spoke to several actual people and they made the process easy and fun. The automated calltree just delayed everything and made things a headache.

Since I worked most of Thanksgiving, I completely forgot that this video turned 7 years old recently.
