Of course, after a period of not being sure what to work on, I now have THREE almost empty first drafts in my WIP folder 😅 💙📚

So, I may be retiring my dystopian WIP for the foreseeable future and writing a whole NEW dystopian, anti-hero WIP that’s been rattling around my head for about a year and is going to be fuelled by pure rage 🔥

I have sold a grand total of two books this year. Not this week, not this month, THIS YEAR. I’m not trying to get sympathy or pity, I just think it’s sometimes helpful to share the bad as well as the good. We’ll get there, friends ✌🏻💙📚

I wish I could spend my afternoon writing but instead I’m making Instagram reels because GETTING PEOPLE TO READ MY BOOKS IS HARD, EVEN WHEN ALL THE REVIEWS ARE GREAT 😭😭😭

If AI “authors” and “artists” are so proud of their use of plagiarism-bots, why do NONE of them label their work as AI-generated? They all pretend they did it themselves because they *know* audiences hate it and *know* they will be judged for it. Keep rejecting AI and support humans 💙📚

I contacted my Tory MP (Graham Stuart) about condemning Trump for his actions regarding Venezuela and Greenland, and this was his response. It seems the Conservative Party’s position is that they will continue to support the US no matter who is in charge or what they’re doing.

I’ve been in pieces all day. Matt was a great friend, a shining light in the online writing community, and loved by many of us. Matt was also a big advocate for Bluesky, particularly the Horror Writers Chat, which he Invested a lot of energy in until his diagnosis. He will be dearly missed 💙

I’ve made a couple of big changes in the plot of my dystopian WIP that I think will make it better, but now half of what’s already written needs to be deleted or substantially changed, and I can’t figure out what to do next. Maybe I need to switch to a new project and let it percolate for a while.
