It is June 26. The budget has to be passed in 4 days. We've been told the budget deal is done but the bill "won't be ready until very late tonight" and the vote likely won't happen until tomorrow. The public likely won't have a chance to see the budget bill before it's voted out of committee.

Unfortunately, the Big Bad Bill isn't just big and bad where essential programs are concerned -- it's also got a lot of gnarly provisions as to rights and legal processes buried in there.

Childcare workers are essential! They make it possible for parents to work, for children to thrive, and for society to function. We can and we should make the ultra-wealthy pay what they owe, so we can invest in essential services. Because when child care workers win, we all win.
