Lana is unfortunately a bit of a doormat. She’s self-sacrificing people-pleaser, who just wants to save everyone, even if it’s at the cost of herself.

I’m learning that I love writing about characters who get in their own way — like Meredith with her ambition, Lana with her doormat tendencies. It’s fun to see them change and shift … or in the case of some characters, fall deeper into their flaws and become villainous.

Can all of them be an answer? 😆😆 Really though, Meredith and Alixandra are my favorite couple. I already started writing a prequel series that focuses on Meredith as the FMC (it’s free when you sign up to my newsletter).

I tend to be a somewhat intuitive writer, so really most of my characters surprised me, but I think Meredith’s blind ambition is one of the most surprising. So many times, she could have chosen her mate, but her fear and ambition drove her forward on a path she might never recover from.

All of my characters have at least a sliver of myself in them, but I would say the least like me is either Vasileios (a scholarly fae prince who is much more interested in research than swordplay). I love books, but … if I had a choice I would definitely be playing with magic swords!
