I have seen references here to EIA's Annual Energy Review. That data set ends in 2009. For the latest annual data see the Monthly Energy Review. The data for all of 2024 was just published at the end of March.

The Energy Information Administration has hired a lot of very good computer modelers who live around the country to work on the National Energy Modeling System in the last couple of years. They are highly employable and can jump jobs easily. How many telework exemptions EIA gets will be interesting.

Since 1990, assume we had listened to scientists, and we had offset the same GDP growth with declines in energy intensity (Btu/GDP). Also we had reduced carbon intensity (CO2/Btu) much earlier. The net result would have been much different societal (i.e. economic) growth. So it was not inevitable.

I'd be interested in stories of crazy happenings from local political campaigns. One of the craziest things here in the DC area is that a guy running for Congress took a picture with a fake family. I assume he is single and childless so I guess he figured he needed the cred to be a good Republican.

One good thing to come out of this is that I know who Bad Bunny is. Prior to this I figured if I didn't know then I probably shouldn't google him. Although I didn't even know it was a him.
