the fact that this place looks exactly like the other place makes me think i can and might do this one. no guarantees...but my brain's grooves are unchangeable (ask any therapist who's ever had the misfortune to deal with me) so the sameness is very very helpful

The aspect of the Oscars that I've always loved the best was how it helped to make its audience aware of a whole swath of movies it hadn't considered. Taking the Oscars to where the eyeballs actually are now isn't the worst thing.

Academy Award winner Diane Keaton has died at the age of 79. How few actresses can say they've marched to the beat of their own drum and stayed so universally beloved? Simply irreplaceable.

my favorite robert redford story is that mike nichols considered him for dustin hoffman's part in THE GRADUATE. during their conversation nichols asked redford something like, "have you ever struck out with a girl?" and redford's response was basically, "i don't understand the question"
