I know there is some anxiety around how to protect yourself in light of Muskrat and his herd of shitler youth getting their hands on all our personal information so here are the steps you can take to protect yourself. I’ve seen these in various threads but thought it worth putting them together🧵 1/?

Here’s an interesting and important study on how fact-checking social media can lead to accusations of bias against right wing discourse - but it’s actually because that discourse is more likely to contain misinformation to start with. Paging

Diamond open access model means that publication in scientific journal is free for both readers and authors. No APCs = equal publishing, but also no profit = need for external funding. There are relatively few diamond OA journals, and some of them (including GHSP) were funded by USAID.

FINALLY someone explaining EOs are 👏🏻 not 👏🏻 laws!!! As someone who has worked on EOs, this groveling to THINGS THAT ARE NOT THE LAW is bizarre. “While it’s true the order says that, that does not actually change the legal status of prescribing these treatments.”

Why Are Hospitals Bowing to Trump’s Illegal Gender-Affirming Care Ban?
The president doesn’t actually have the power to ban gender-affirming care for trans youth. So why has Children’s National “paused” certain forms of care?
