Mixing my passion for #poetry and #dance

Last night, a fabulous #erasurepoetry workshop with Jeremy Pak Nelson at Saan1 in Manchester, organised by Fuse, a 'Manchester-based collective uplifting underrepresented (ethnic minority) creatives.' Being in the (old, white) minority felt good. Everyone was so welcoming, and I made three erasures!

It's good to see more and more of my old #writing friends moving here. I should check in more often.

So, it turns out, Meta has pirated rather a lot of the publications I spent decades working in as an academic, to train its AI. All my work (apart from a few things they didn't find, like my first book), basically plagiarised, and there is sweet nothing I can do about it.

I felt so touched to see a few of my old #writing buddies yesterday at Oldham Library. We were discussing my book, A Kind of Family, and the importance of women friends, it being #internationalwomensday.

Doing a lot of writing in my head...

Great article in the current Author, discussing ageism in the publishing industry. I feel seen. Though I must say, my (indie) publisher is wonderful in that respect. The problem lies with the more cut-throat business of agents and big publishing houses.

I have just received some exciting news. Can't wait to tell you!

Still not getting the buzz on here I used to see on X. But then, I never was one to spill my guts daily on social media. I say something when I've got something to say.

Of I could go, I world. This will be good.

Got off my backside and looked at a couple of people's starter packs. Followed some more people. I guess I'm putting down roots in the sky.

That'll be me, then, having the gwenders.

I still don't understand this platform. I'm getting loads on my feed that isn't from the people I follow. Plus, a lot of cat photos. I stopped loving cats when they started using my raised veg beds as their toilet. Can I please see posts from my #writer friends?

Thank you to my writer friends for spotting me on here. Still nowhere near the number I connected with on x, but it will grow, I guess. New beginnings. Ouch. Tautology hurts.
