One of the odd misconceptions about Donkey Kong Bananza's existence is this notion that it's a one-off, that Nintendo made it a Donkey Kong game by arbitrarily drawing the name out of a hat, and that it's not part of a multi-year strategy to reestablish the brand between the park and movie.

Has anyone ever played this game? All I remember is how damn hard it was and basically nothing else. I don’t remember ever getting past the second level, honestly.

Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards Easily my favorite of the Dark Matter Trilogy. Great OST, addicting gimmick, and way better secrets than DL2 and 3. I found myself constantly forgetting this game is over 20 years old. Has a bit of jank, but is still fantastic. Rating: ★★★★★

He attacks only by complete accident, and upon his defeat, he falls on his back and lies there until you collect the key and leave.

I’ve never played Rayman 2 before, but the movement feels really strange to me, and I can’t put my finger on why.

Imagine Bunny Mario returning someday.

Kirby’s Dream Land 3 Cryptic puzzles, slow movement, and excessive auto-scrolling aside, this is a lovely improvement to KDL2. The art style is among the coziest in the series, and the OST is incredibly memorable. Worth a play, but maybe not for 100% completion. Rating: ★★★☆☆
