Cato has published my comprehensive review of the ~240 Venezuelans the US government renditioned 2 months ago to Salvador’s notorious prison. We identified FIFTY who came legally, never violated any immigration law, but are imprisoned at the US government’s request and at US taxpayer expense.

Paul Weiss backing away from representing LULAC is an outrage. In the face of authoritarianism, any one of us will be in a situation where we have to decide whether to be guided by courage or fear. There is only one answer that stands the test of time.

International law recognizes a right to housing as a fundamental obligation. Police harassment of the unhoused is not just cruel but in this case life-threatening. Is this the world you want to live in?
