Fun fact: I am terrified of fucking up my relationships with other people constantly, but the reality is that I can't keep up, and I don't know what I'm doing. By the time I realize it, weeks have gone by, and I've not heard back and worry that the relationship is failing. Not for a lack of care.

There will be folks I miss out greeting holidays personally. If I haven't talked to you in months, I am sorry. I do get a lot of well wishing during the holidays, and my mood does not always permit me to feel it well. So my apologies for missing out on that, it's likely not personal.

This holiday started out kinda lousy, but I'm headache free, and have dinner on the way. I have had some good breakthroughs this year. I'm hoping that nothing major happens next year: neither a move or job loss, because then I can likely make my way to the West Coast!

I genuinely don’t think I give back enough to the good ppl in my life. I simply don’t have enough energy or emotional space. It’s why I have a hard time with long term friendships. They say ott wise, but it ends the same way. It’s probably me.

Holiday depression hit.

I sat down to watch The Holdovers expecting a sweet, charming, witty and funny movie. It's dry, but it is deeply heartfelt. I see myself in two stages, arguing with each other and I'm just.. ugh. This movie wrecked me tonight.

I wasn't expecting to get this emotional for the holiday. I apologize. I'm missing a lot of folks and I'm freezing over.

Yeah. The holidays can hit me hard. I'm here alone at home. Just me.

So Real talk. My Dad died just over a year ago. I found out early December 2024 through randomly searching Facebook. I don't know why, but I got an overwhelming urge to seek him out. I found out through my sister in law telling my brother about the service. He left when I was 1. We never spoke.

Looking back over the year, as a retrospective, I have made a lot of new acquaintances, and a fair number of friends, but a good number of people have fallen by the wayside, or even pushed me away. I always grieve those relationships. Being in a shared space makes it harder at times.
