The holocaust was “legal”. The slave trade was “legal”. The genocide of the Native Americans was “legal”. When evil holds power, laws are often immoral, and morals are often unlawful. Sometimes doing what’s right requires us to break the law.

What’s happening in America right now is the result of cognitive dissonance in our collective unconscious. This is the blowback from trying to teach people about Americas history of racism, genocide, and xenophobia.

This whole thing isn’t about Trump and musk believing in Nazi ideology. It’s about them having an existing and easily accessed framework for seizing power. I don’t think for a second that they actually believe in the blood libel mythos, like Hitler did.

We have a president who said he would “be a dictator on day one”, who also said that you would never have to vote again if he wins, and his right hand man is throwing Nazi salutes at his inauguration. But liberals are overreacting.

I think the only thing more frightening than a Trump presidency which is a dismal failure, like his first term, is a presidency that is a wild success. A presidency where he achieves all of his goals.

It’s true that the Shepherd kills more sheep than the wolf. But the bankers and the politicians kill more than both.

The sad truth is, if Jesus arrived today and promised us kingdom come, with little ceremony, and without much ado, we would nail him to a cross. And if the devil joined us here and now, we would gladly give him the keys to the White House.
