At Epiphany mass today the priest was speaking of the magi beholding "the powerless infant," but then corrected himself, saying, "well, powerless in appearance." I spent the rest of mass considering whether the correction accords with Neo-Chalcedonian Christology. What do you think?

Does anyone know of an early Christian example of the deliverer of sermon referring to himself by name in the third person? There's a line in the De Lazaro homily attributed to Potamius: "Age, age, Potami, servus Dei vivi...narrato" I can't recall ever encountering something like this.
