What a great exhibition by Joel Meyerowitz at Fernán Gómez Centro in Madrid. For ‘My European Trip’, he and his wife Vivian travelled through Europe in ’66–’67, leaving us a historical portrait. Funded by a Guggenheim Fellowship—proof, nearly 60 years later, of the lasting value of such grants.

Thanks to a grant from the Dutch Embassy, I’ll be taking part in PHotoESPAÑA PRO Talento a bordo next week — a great opportunity to share new work created in south-east Spain with an international group of curators. The Plastic Sea will become a book and exhibition, to be launched at the end of '25.

Working together with @arnoldvanbruggen.bsky.social in Europe’s largest vegetable garden: the vast sea of greenhouses around Almería in southeastern Spain and makeshift settlements where - legal and illegal - migrant workers live.

In progress: The Europeans in Saksen-Anhalt. At the foot of the enormous 19th-century Kyffhäuser Monument, we meet with the shooting club in Kelbra, part of the notorious Kyffhäuserbund. This is an organization with 34,000 members nationwide, originally intended for German veterans.
