Very sad to read that Steve Cropper has passed. He co-wrote songs like "In The Midnight Hour," and "Sittin' On The Dock Of The Bay," so he was one of the few guitarists that could live high on the hog--big house, nice cars, no need to worry about next month's bills. Good for him. A life well-lived.

Heading to Eureka for the Redwood Coast Music Festival this weekend! I'll be playing two sets with myself and the Whippersnappers, a set with Mitch Polzak and an all-star hillbilly set with Dave and Deke, Mitch Polzak and Carl Sonny Leyland! I can't say enough great things about this festival!

What a surprise! I went walking with my daughter tonight, and the #alleyfigtree was the bushiest I had seen it since I started monitoring it years ago! And, I couldn’t believe it… That little survivor was full of little baby figs! I couldn’t believe it. It’s an underdog success story!

You spent the day partying and relaxing. I spent the day with Len and Jacob Horowitz, the record lathe gurus. They're helping me with the new installation of a Grampian/Gotham cutting head and cutting amplifier. It's the Rolls Royce of mono cutting systems, made in the mid-50s. Thanks Len and Jacob!

Going to Austin, Texas for the Lone Star Round Up! One of my favorite events, it takes over the whole town! There's the car show (with music) at the Expo Center, then all the vintage cars and hot rods take over South Congress Avenue, and shows go off at C-Boys, the Continental Club, etc. Can't Wait!
