While I understand the complaints about cut content, the new DQ really is a lovely, and breezy, adventure so far (~8 hours in). It’s been ages since I played either PS1 or DS releases but my memory is that they were tedious in spite of their greatness. I am sad to lose the vocation costumes though.

Went to this year’s Linda Cube Pop-up. Prices were much higher than last time, disappointingly so given how cool some of it was, but I walked out with some fun stuff.

I'm enjoying all the posts/memories of PSO's 25th anniversary. It's a game that really resonated with me as one of my first experiences with online games. I don't think the sequels and spin-offs ever came close to matching that experience unfortunately. I also think Episode 3 is incredible.

100% this is the thing I was most excited by in the show.

…And in honor of the DQ remakes, today’s not so random #RandomGameSaturday is Theatrhythm Dragon Quest. I think I may enjoy this one more than the FF releases.

Wrapped up the DQ1 Remake, and while the bosses are crazily overtuned, the remake and new additions were really lovely. I'm a good way through Dragon Quest 2 now and this is absolutely an incredible facelift so far.

Dispatch continues to be an incredible ride. AdHoc really have something special on their hands. The animation is so, so good, and the choices are so difficult to make. I can't wait for the next episodes. Man what a wild year it's been for new releases.

Wrapped up Ghost of Yotei tonight and boy that game just needed everything to be about 20% less. All the story missions, encounters, shrines, infiltrations etc would have all benefited from a trim start to finish. Would have been a much tighter experience. Absolutely stunning game at times.

New Deftones album is really great. I couldn't find much to enjoy in Ohms and Gore, but I'm loving the variety in PM. I think most of the sound hits squarely in the DE/KNY era (same producer even), but I think there's reflections of all of their albums in this release. It's a really nice surprise.

Finally got a chance to see Superman. It was tremendous.

I absolutely devoured Donkey Kong Bananza over the long Japan weekend. Hit credits and loved every second of it. Beautiful worlds and you’re basically doing or finding something new every few minutes. I’ve got a some new post credit bananas to find so there’s still more to do.

Credits on Death Stranding 2. What a finale. It’s equal parts extremely goofy and very sincere. I called an (admittedly obvious) story twist very early on, but even then it was a lovely pay off.

I’m blown away at how great DS2 runs on base PS5. Just finished Chapter 5 and they were basically showing off the whole time.
