I was running into some serious Svelte 5 performance issues. Turns out it was caused by join/split calls in Svelte `tracing.js`, it logs extra info in dev mode 🫠 Ran a quick test in a production build and everything was super fast. 🚀🎉 So, don't test perf in dev mode.

Just like with the frosted glass effects in iOS 7, with Liquid Glass in OS 26 Apple is going to create a clear visible distinction between what is native and what is web. Apps powered by web tech are going stand out like a sore thumb.

I also received the npm phishing email. The address “[email protected]” seemed suspicious but not alarmingly so. It was the deadline in a few days part that gave it away. Best protection against phishing is to make it a habit to never click links in emails, type in the address the manually.

I'm trying to augment the `SvelteHTMLElements` interface but it only works when I add the `declare module 'svelte/elements' …` statement to a local `.d.ts` It doesn't work when I import a node module like `import filepond/types/svelte` Anyone know what I could be doing wrong? cc @rich-harris.dev

Just spent 2 hours figuring out why TypeScript was including the FilePond `dist` folder in the build process. The FilePond extension `.ts` files contain an `import "filepond"` statement, this makes them extend the `filepond` module with additional props when they're conditionally imported...

It works great for small scoped changes to a subset of files. I tried refactoring an entire codebase from JSDoc to TypeScript, it seems that's a bit much. With too many changes it became hard to mentally track what's going on and verify that everything is fine. Impossible to read back all changes.
