#1001albums: Day 175: Willie Colón & Rubén Blades: Sembra: 1978. The world's best selling salsa album has passed me by for the past 62 years. As has the artist. It's interesting listening, bubbling rhythm section and good horn arrangements. I enjoyed Pedro Navaja with its Mac The Knife vibe.

#1001albums: Day 174: The Modern Lovers: 1976. Echoes of the Velvet Underground & the Doors from this proto-punk band, recorded in 1971/2 but it didn't see the light of day until a few years later. a simplistic and uncluttered sound, easy to hear how this influenced the early punk movement.

#1001albums: Day 1003: Echo and the Bunnymen: Crocodiles: 1980: Ah the Bunnymen, with their sparseness and petulant dark delivery. I was never really into this kind of post-punk meandering, but listening this morning it's ok.

#1001albums: Day 166: Elvis Presley: Elvis is Back!: 1960. back from the army that is, after having completed his two year draft. A mixed bag of styles on this album, rock n roll, pop ballads, a cover of 'Fever', but it's a good vocal showcase.
