It's hard to have hope, but it is all some of us have. It's a powerful, driving force that can lead to liberation. If you find yourself hopeless, seek community. Find your people. As Leonard Cohen said, "There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in."

Another great assembly meeting in the books! Thank you to all who attended on Saturday. It was so great seeing some new faces and some familiar ones! Very excited to network and continue working toward building community.

Amanda Trebach was arrested on bogus charges, a retaliatory act! Observing and documenting kidnappings are not crimes. We cannot let these domestic terrorists do whatever they want to any of us, regardless of “documentation status.”

Grow food. Grow it for you, grow it for your friends, neighbors, strangers. Plant everywhere. Kill your lawn.

85% of Gaza is on the brink of death due to starvation. Israel could let aid in at any moment. And some people (like these men tried to do with me on Friday) are still trying to justify this atrocity. There is no justification. This could stop at any moment. End the blockade now.

Part of doing the work is holding others accountable and calling out when you see people acting in ways that could put others in danger. It's not fun, but it's essential in the interest of everyone's safety.

Community helps us, community saves us. Looking out for your neighbors is one of the most rewarding and dependable things you can do. It also lets people sleep better, eat better, live better.

We stand unflinchingly with our communities and in defense of those targeted by the kidnappers and their raids. No one is illegal, especially on stolen land. Take care of each other however you are able. We are in this together and can only depend on each other.

Hey! You look like you could use a relaxing and fun evening out with community. Join us next week for a fun, low-pressure event! While this will be outdoors, there may be close contact during trivia discussions, so masking is encouraged. Let's stay safe and have a good time!

Watch out for your street vendors. They are very visible members of our communities and they deserve protection, too!

BREAKING: Federal agents in plain clothes and unmarked cars tried to snatch 1st graders from LA elementary schools—told staff they had “parental consent.” They lied. When pressed, they HID THEIR IDS. DHS admits they sent them. This wasn’t a welfare check. It was a test run for a police state.

Everyone deserves good food, no matter their income. The idea that we have to "earn" something necessary for survival is disgusting. Let's come together and share food, plant gardens and build community stronger than this antiquated and capitalist notion.

Take issue with people who talk about the unhoused "encroaching" on community land. The unhoused are members of your community and are never a burden. Your organizing should include them.

A reminder that you don’t have to “earn” your rest. You deserve it and it’s your right. Anyone who makes you feel like resting is a waste of time isn’t a friend.

Capitalism leaves so many of us behind. Not only does it break our bodies and spirits, it fails to ensure our needs are met. What if we told you there’s a way to interact with your community directly, express your needs, have 'em met & help meet others’ needs? That’s the basis of a Solitary Economy!
