Facebook just reminded me that eleven years ago today my first book came out (The Assassin's Curse, now repubbed as Magic of Blood and Sea). People will still tag me with fan art and such about it, which is neat!

I'm really enjoying reading Eye of the World for the first time but there's no way I'm finishing this before I have to give it back to the library lmao

Today is the 76th birthday of the late great Tanith Lee, my favorite author. She wrote unique sword and sorcery, sensuous dark fantasy, unsettling Gothic horror, strange sci-fi, and even whimsical children's books. One of the greats!

Anyway, I am tired of social media and derive no real joy from any of it aside from Tumblr, so I'm just going to try to make Bluesky as Tumblr-esque as I can and just share stuff I like.

Right now I'm reading Twilight of the Gods by Scott Oden, which is the second book in a sword and sorcery series with an orc anti-hero! Reading the first one (A Gathering of Ravens) pulled me out of a literal year-long reading earlier this year. I literally had not finished a book until that one.
