The Carleton Library Series (CLS) is the most enduring and significant initiative taken in the history of Canadian publishing where the editing, reprinting, and dissemination of documents important to the history of the place we now call Canada is concerned.

Our latest exhibit is a display of Library staff hobbies on the first floor near the tunnel entrance. We have a wide-range of talents displayed, from Dungeons and Dragons to quilting and gaming and cross-stitching. Stop by on your way in to take a look through this exhibit!

Our next AI mini-course is coming up in a couple of days and this free course still has registration space open! Students will learn how to interact with texts and develop a research workflow using tools like Zotero, spreadsheets, and tagging systems. Register at library.carleton.ca/aiminicourses

Later this month, Carleton University will be hosting the annual three-day Ontario Engineering Competition (OEC) of approximately 350 students from across Ontario. One of the main events of this competition will be held on Friday, January 23 from 2:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. on the 4th floor of the Library.

New to the rare book collection this year is The Journals of Susanna Moodie by Margaret Atwood. A rare, boxed folio, this work is a limited-edition manuscript printed in 1980 and is 1 of 120 copies. This work of poetry is typeset with original serigraphs and is printed on handmade rag paper.

The Take Back the Press: Treaty Recognition Week Event takes place TODAY in the Book Arts Lab. Participants will have the opportunity to listen to guest speaker David Serkoak, to try their hand at lino cutting, and setting type to make posters on the Book Arts Lab printing presses.

The CrossCraft Patter Systems exhibit explores how foundational techniques from traditional crafts including knitting, quilting, embroidery, and macrame, can inspire new approaches to visual pattern-making in contemporary design.

I wanted to share me favorite groundhog hole in campus and a beautiful chonk was there greeting me as I photographed their home.

Carleton’s updated Chosen Name process is now available to all staff and faculty via Carleton Central. This new approach improves how chosen first names are managed and displayed, allowing individuals to specify their chosen first name for use across university systems and communications platforms.

Today's an exciting day for us in the Library because we officially get to announce our 24-hour exam hours. From Monday to Thursday we are open 24 hours. Friday we are open until midnight. Saturday we're open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday we open at 10 a.m. and start all over again.
