Today during a meeting at my agency, we were discussing how NOAA climate data that we need to use for our projects is now suddenly very limited and very not user friendly. We aren’t trying to do anything related to climate change. It’s shocking how badly this admin is messing with basic science.

This was totally my dog. Could learn tricks in no time. We figured he had the vocabulary of a 7 or 8 year old.

Well, clearly this new person needs a raise. 😆

I wanted to just share one story about a kid who spent a lot of time in the neighborhood where Renee Nicole Good died today. Prince got married at Park United Methodist just down the street from 34th & Plymouth; he went to high school at Central High a few blocks in the other direction over on 35th.

I really liked her a lot. So sad.

I’ve been trying to eat more beans for my gut health. January 1st I made a pot of black eyed peas and gave eaten most of them. Last night I had black beans. Tonight I had edamame. Starting to feel very tiny shift in my gut. Would love to find more dried bean recipes.

Just got a notification in the Chipotle app that they have a new high protein menu for January. Cool. But then I scrolled and noticed three options developed by influencers. I guess that’s how things are now, aren’t they? Would prefer just having options and not “celebrity” endorsements.

I knew this had to be Atwater. Whata fantastic story. Had no idea she was the *only* woman geophysicist at the time. It’s funny because the field is still mostly men, but not like that.

Based on that deep dive, I think even if we’re all driving EVs soon, we’re still looking at gold and other natural resources. This isn’t just about oil but that’s probably the big piece.

I just spent three hours doing a deep dive on Venezuelan geology and political history. In summary: They have a shitload of oil. They also have a shitload of gold. I couldn't find any information about drugs, though. 🧵⚒️

Really tired of the fact that the only thing standing in the way of prosperity for millions of Americans is how much we spend on wars and making oil companies richer. Can you imagine if we took even 10% of defense spending and put it towards education or healthcare?

My last black eyed peas attempt (it was also my first) went blah. We didn’t end up eating them. This time I made Skinny Taste’s version and it is so good. Today is my first batch of leftovers and I really like it.
