Bingo update! The Br#2ktown Canal is almost fully drained, and this scooter graveyard looks spooky. We've found a number of things NOT on our bingo card, including road cones, putters and golf balls, menus, skateboards, a bowling ball, one bazillion fish, a cute little turtle, a beaver, and a truck.

The canal draining began last week but was paused because of the incoming storm. With warmer temps on the way, we hope to be back at it by Tuesday! But we've already found 3 things for our bingo game: scooters, phones, and dirt. 🛴📱🟫 We also found a jacket, though that wasn't on our bingo cards. 🧥

OKC Parks facilities that are open today will close at 4 p.m.

What's up with the water? The bulk of the water inside the Bricktown Canal has drained, but some places still have up to 18 inches of water. The draining process was slower than expected this year because of a broken valve.

OKC Parks recreation centers, community centers, performing arts centers, gyms, and senior center will be closed Friday, January 23. All outdoor parks will be open 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Martin Park Nature Center and Will Rogers Gardens will keep their regular winter hours.

We're squeezing in as much as possible before the freeze! The Bricktown Canal finished draining today, so we started the cleanup work that will last for the next few weeks. 🪏 We even rescued a few little friends. (Updates to Canal Bingo coming soon!)

It's going to be dangerously cold this weekend. Now is the time to make a winter storm plan if you don't already have one. Items for winter storms to add to your disaster kit include non-perishable food and water for 1-2 weeks, blankets, coats, gloves, hats and water-resistant boots.
