Called the probate service today (only available 9am-1pm). It takes 2 mins to negotiate the outgoing message “options” THEN you get put on hold and… “The approximate wait time for your call to be answered is 1 hour 45 mins.” WTAF!! 😱 This is completely unacceptable for a govt service! #fewmin

Just spent a lovely but somewhat emotional afternoon & evening with 2 of my besties. One of which has just received a cancer diagnosis. Not much known yet and biopsy etc to be done this week. Scary times. Hoping for the best but fearing the worst 🥺 Fuck Cancer!!

What a lovely and completely unexpected surprise…one of the lads I went to France with borrowed a bike from me for the trip. He just sent me these as a thank you 😊🥰 A Sancerre 2019 and a Grand Cru Graves, Chateau Pape Clement 2015 Lovely!

It wouldn’t be a proper bike ride if there wasn’t a beer involved…

Today’s ride is in the the spirit of the Giro d’Italia with a retro jersey.

Ok, the holiday is over…back to my favourite thing 😩

30 mins on hold to speak to the council about not collecting my garden refuse bin AGAIN! That's a whole month they've not collected, which is a bit of a PITA at this time of year when everything is growing like mad. 😤

Cycling is such a part of French culture. People smile and wave as you pass, they applaud and shout encouragement “Allez! Allez!” Drivers give way (even when they don’t need to). They give a wide berth when passing. Sadly here people only shout abuse at cyclists.

The worst thing about our trip was between Southampton & Portsmouth. Train delayed and then terminated before our destination. We rode the last few miles. Today engineering works & bus replacement service so forced to ride home. Terrible road surfaces, poor cycle infrastructure and heavy traffic

Got home safely today after 3 terrific days cycling in France. Good times with great company and stunning weather, if a little warm to be exercising 🥵 Amazing roads, very little traffic and a very warm welcome as cyclists by the locals.

Another epic day on the bike today. Not quite finished the ride yet. Stopped in Caen to watch the footy (kicky ball) before heading to the ferry later. This will be the 3rd consecutive day of 100kms in the bike 🤣

New passport arrived in the nick of time. I’m off to France today!
