Adoption is an option for lots of people, thankfully, and when taken it transforms lives. When they lost their previous dogs Jem and Dave committed to adoption. Today they share their lives with Bob Marley and Brien Crow. It took a while to find first Bob and several months later, Brien.

Albert Claude and Angel have always been keen companions when we’re out walking. Despite the ‘little and large’ mismatch they’re actually perfectly matched in walking energy and style. (and the sunflowers continue).

😱 When I became so physically unwell I couldn't walk, this book made me feel terrible. Someone with the toughest condition doing an arduous walk without any ill effects made me feel like I was weak, and amplified every "It's just in your head" voice that I faced in the long fight to get treatment.

With friends staying the household dog count has gone up to a glorious 7 🙂🥳

After a sweltering week, overnight rain has freshened everything up nicely. I hope to be getting back to some short walks this week with the dogs, who have been stars and excellent company while my ankle’s kept us from moving far. I am thankful every day for their sweet natured friendship and love.

It’s scorching and Nanou and Tsuki decide hunting mice and lizards is a good idea

As we headed home at the end of the walk we met an old man with an aged dog, a terrier who we haven’t met before. I was several meters distant and slightly out of sight with Angel and Cerise when Albert Claude and Nanou first encountered them. There was a mild commotion and I hurried to catch up.

Cosette had a busy morning trying to hunt but thankfully her success was thwarted by the diligent tracking of Albert Claude. Not that he knows what an efficient dog he’s being as he follows her around, never more than one nose length behind. She’s unfazed by any dog, least of all love struck AC

The first peony and it’s a beautiful white one. Very pleased to get any flowers from the autumn planting, this one’s an outlier, none of the others look like they’ll flower yet. Most of the roses are inherited with the house so all a beautiful surprise this year as they open.
