On Friday, some of our team joined our residents for a fantastic trip to #TheFitzwilliamMuseum! It was a chance to step away from the everyday, explore amazing art and historical items, and enjoy each other’s company. Moments like these mean so much.

A little throwback. When Sam lost his home, life was tough. Moving into our supported housing gave him the stability to rebuild, with flexible support from our Project Workers, time at our community allotment, and mental health support from Louisa, our nurse. Today, Sam’s living independently.

When we met Jasmine*, she’d spent a year in temporary housing with only a bar stool and a child’s camp bed, and no washing machine. With the help of our team, donated furniture, and the Emmaus “solidarity package,” we transformed her space into a real home.

Last week we took a group of our residents for a wonderful day at the seaside. Even though the rain made an appearance, it didn’t spoil things. Fresh air, fish and chips, a few goes in the arcade, and good company made it a day to remember! 🏖️ #HunstantonBeach #HomelessnessSupport

We’re so proud of Ryan! After leaving prison, he faced an uncertain future - sofa surfing and battling addiction. Once he connected with us, we offered supported housing and mental health support. Now, he’s in his own flat, clean and sober, and running a thriving gardening business.

A few months back, we built deer-proof fencing at our community allotment. Now it's up and working beautifully! Crops are thriving thanks to funding from @ngsopengardens.bsky.social.

After cancer and mental health struggles, Siobhan found herself without a home. Moving into supported housing with Cambridge Cyrenians changed everything, especially when she discovered our community allotment. Now in her own flat, Siobhan still attends weekly. We couldn’t be happier for her!

Thanks to generous funding from the National Garden Scheme Community Grants Programme, we’ve started building deer-proof fencing around our crop plots. We’re aiming to finish in the next couple of weeks. Watch this space!

Just because you don’t see them doesn’t mean they’re not there. Hidden homelessness affects individuals who don’t have a permanent or safe place to call home but aren’t visibly sleeping rough. They may be ‘sofa surfing’ with friends, or staying in overcrowded or unsuitable housing.
