The first panel speaker at the Holberg Symposium is Emily Apter: “The humanities in the US and also worldwide is directly under attack. Higher education, including the hard sciences, are now being explicitly targeted, as a supposed read-out of ‘wokeness’."

"The humanities, in my strict reading, are literature and philosophy, although all disciplines should be supplemented by the humanities.
