I've been playing around with a new Phish plot, one that shows gap (# shows since last time played) info ... this has show on x-axis (this is first part of Fall '95 tour) with median (⚫), mean (🟥), and max gap (number) ... it's a lot of info, but it's not intuitive to glance at and learn something

me and my Phish buddies are about to start our Fall 1995 30th anniversary listening project, where we listen to each show on (or very close to) the day of a tour that was special for all of us it's gonna be a lot of Phish ... 54 shows in 81 days 🤯 ... starting on 9/27

things have been very busy with life, work, etc. ... just now catching up on the recent batch of shows and, my lord, that Light from 9/12 (that comes out of the Chalk Dust) is sublime

topic of discussion on my Phish friends text thread was Goose and I said that I don't have a strong opinion either way ... I hope they succeed, I'll probably listen to them more one day ... but very not interested in the forced 'where do you fall on Goose?' conversation ... it's okay to not care

playing around w/ the look of my song-duration plots on this Friday afternoon ... this iteration (using Disease as an example) has 'jamchart' versions in orange ... potentially useful (?) perhaps unsurprisingly, almost all jamchart versions are longer than the moving average (blue line) #PhishPlots

I haven't been in a position to attend a lot of shows the past decade+ (you know, just the circumstances of life, c'est la vie) ... but I'm doing the entire SPAC run and super excited to connect with my 1.0 buddies ⭕

had I not webcasted last night's show and only saw the list of songs in the first part of the second set I would've scoffed at Sparkle's placement –– but it strangely worked, it seemed to get them all pumped up (especially Trey)! I'll likely skip it on a relisten, but it was fun in the moment

as you all know, when you go to phish.net for a show you can view the 'Gap Chart', which shows you how many shows between performances of a song –– here's an example from set 1 of last night's show this is useful to see what songs are in regular rotation (small gap) versus rare (large gap) 1/3

the Fuego -> My Friend, My Friend -> Fuego (as its designated in phish.net) from Folsom night 3 could be: Fuego -> My Friend, My Friend -> MFMF/Fuego hybrid ... it's almost like a mash-up, with elements from both, for several minutes 🤩

haven't been able to webcast shows, so relying on the selection they've put up on YouTube –– spent some time watching them and Fishman is on 🔥 this tour –– check out Ruby Waves and the Ghost (paired with a preceding Disease), my lord, he is putting on a clinic in those jams

fun fact: the Stash in the encore slot on night 1 of Folsom was only the third time it's been in the encore –– the other two were 11-1-1991 and 11-14-1996

webcasted last night and that WGTYM jam was indeed epic, I got lost in the time warp not realizing how long it was –– Fishman was relentless, I feel like the jam could've fizzled to an end a few times, but he was like 'Not yet guys, we're not done with this' ⭕

I haven't had the time/energy to engage with the Phish (+) community here on BlueSky lately (I work in higher education and it's been a five-alarm fire for months) But, I was able to webcast the two SF shows and loved them ... a lot of great stuff, the Carini, NMINML > Ruby Waves from N1 stands out
