The Senedd dissolves for pre-election period tomorrow. As I am not seeking re-election, I will no longer be MS for Merthyr Tydfil & Rhymney, but remain Minister until the election. It has been the greatest honour to serve and I thank everyone who has offered their support and friendship Thank you

This week we completed our Plenary meetings for this term of the Senedd. It was a busy week of business but also some time to reflect on the many contributions made to Welsh public life by my MS colleagues. Today I joined Merthyr Valleys Homes for site visits and a Ministerial visit to Newport.

The Senedd today marked 25 years of remarkable contributions of the 69 women who have been elected. Every woman elected has been honoured with their own commemorative “number” recognising their place in Senedd history. I’m very proud to have received my number “53” which I am wearing today 😊

Welsh Government’s Transformation of Children’s Services Programme Legacy Report was launched today. Thanks to everyone involved in delivering this, particularly care experienced young people, Ministers, stakeholders & partners. The next WG must continue this work.

Great to see Welsh Government Baby Bundles on display at Senedd Cymru today. Around 550 expectant mothers have now registered and more than 300 have so far been delivered since the first one in February. It’s a great scheme. More info here 👇🏻 www.gov.wales/baby-bundle

This evening I had the great privilege of attending a reception hosted by His Majesty the King at Windsor Castle to celebrate and recognise the incredible work of carers, both professional and unpaid, across the UK. I just want to add my own personal thanks to our amazing carers. Diolch yn fawr!

A significant milestone in Welsh Government’s Flying Start childcare as Swansea council offer places to all 2 year olds. Thanks to Councillors who have worked in partnership with, and to staff and children at the Centre who provide and benefit from such a fantastic facility.

Pleased to speak at Carers Trust Wales event at the Senedd calling for action to #endcarerpoverty. I was able to set out how Welsh Government is helping to support unpaid carers through our Carers Support Fund, to appreciate the amazing contribution unpaid carers make to our social care system.
