Reached Level 41 in the game of Life today. Nice lazy day. I think I'm only missing a few Pokémon in Pokopia left (but I'm pretty sure I have all the necessary habitats built, just waiting to get lucky with the spawns). Also got all environments up to Level 10.

Some key take away from 2025: - No podcast meant no worries about skipping a lot of newer games just to keep up with the moment. - I'm over Nintendo - There were a lot of games that just fell flat for me, and then there were a lot of games that really worked.

Small thing but the Final Fantasy nerd in me appreciates that the newer reprints of the Final Fantasy set corrected the spelling on the Luca Stadium card (left), compared to the typo in the original run (Luka Stadium on the right). Also fun to have a copy of both.

Well this was interesting. Opened a #MTGxSpiderMan bundle today & noticed SOME of the rares/mythics (including a 2nd Soul Stone) were missing their little holofoil stickers at the bottom. Didn't see any signs of tampering so I'm hoping it's just a misprint? I've put in a ticket with WotC support.

Death to Chronos. Got my first Hades 2 clear on night 34 (which I think is around the same place as Hades 1) in my very first run with the 6th Nocturnal Arms weapon. Immediately followed it up with another success with maybe my least favorite of the weapons (Witch's Staff). Supegiant remains great!

Obligatory "pulled a Soul Stone" post. Woot woot! (Also very glad that I just happened to be online looking at stuff earlier when the Final Fantasy MTG Holiday stuff went on sale so I got all that stuff pre-ordered too.

Wizards/ Magic: The Gathering really came out of nowhere in 2025 and said we're taking all of Trevor's money.

Been enjoying a week off work and can't wait for it to really kick into high gear tomorrow (and then throughout the weekend) with some Hades 2.

Caught one of the 10-year anniversary screenings of Hamilton. Haven't watched the show in a while but damn if it doesn't still hit for me.

I loved the Hitman games too much NOT to give 007 First Light a shot when it comes out, but I thought today's showcase was really rough. I'm sure it will play better when you can explore all sorts of different options yourself but wow was I underwhelmed until things popped off near the end.

Really hoping the Spider-Man @magic.wizards.com set has a card for the iconic What's Up Danger moment from Into the Spider-Verse.

Saw @alyankovic.bsky.social last night and had a blast! My favorite moment was when "Skipper Dan" started up and my former theatre-kid, current Disney Adult-loving butt thought "this must be what Swifties felt like when their favorite song was a Secret Song in the Eras Tour!"

Weird very niche thing but they're deliberately NOT calling it The Black Pearl, which is just silly. LEGO/Disney have done this recently with "Boba/Jango Fett's Firespray-Class Starship" to avoid calling it Slave 1 but I don't get this one. That would be like saying "Han Solo's Corellian Freighter."

That was pretty fun. Totally get why it's a top pick on Netflix. Very charming hearing all the little kids cheer after the songs (and I appreciated that I didn't really hear THEIR voices singing along over the soundtrack).

Gonna catch one of the sing-along screening of KPop Demon Hunters tomorrow. As someone who hasn't had Netflix in years, I think this will be a fascinating way to first experience the movie (I've only heard a handful of the songs and know the basic premise).

Can't wait for Microsoft/Bethesda to drop the ball again and NOT have a New Vegas remaster ready for Fallout season 2.

Got the itch for some more FF MTG cards today and treated myself to a pair of collector packs. Found a Surge Foil "Cloud, Midgar Mercenary" which easily becomes my best pull.
